Can’t kick off the new year w/o any new reports and such for upcoming flagships on the way.  This time around, its intel on the 2019 iPhones as Apple appears to maintain the 3-phone launch.  This bit of news  and everything that follows is courtesy of the folks over at the Wall Street Journal.

For starters, we will see Apple add an additional camera on the top tier iPhone.  This bring it to a total of 3 rear-facing shooters to compete against the many shooter son Android smartphones.  We don’t have any word on what the extra camera sensor will bring to the table.  There are some rumors of a 3D camera to tackle the fad again in another manner I presume.  I’m hoping Apple does something a little more interesting w/ it.

Next up, Apple is adding another sensor to the sequel to the XR.  This would give this a 2 cameras on the rear as to add more DSLR-like feature to the more affordable iPhone.  Looks like new massive changes to coming to the 5.8inch iPhone at the current time but we do have a ways to go as we expect some sort of new bells & whistles on both 11s compared to the XS line.

And last but not least, iPhones may get more expensive moving forward.  The company is considering using OLED panels for all iPhones for their 2020 line.  This would make for great display + visuals across the board but you’ll have to literally pay for the premium.  This may not be a big deal in US as folks will complain but wind up getting one.  But they may wind up alienating emerging markets overseas in the process as well.

So what do you think all of the Apple news?  Exciting or depressing?
