LG continues to drop official detials of their upcoming flagship in the form of press releases.  I actually dig it.  First, we got the info about their unique selfie camera and now this.  And this is a new way to output sound on the G8.

LG is using Crystal Sound OLED or CSO that makes the entire display vibrate as a speaker.  This tech is actually already being utilized in some of their TV as well.  This will improve audio clarity and add the bottom-firing speaker to the mix, you’ll get 2-channel stereo sound for audio & better speakerphone quality.

LG wanted to let us know that our favorite audio features are returning as well as the headphone jack.  Check them out below:

  • DTS:X 3D Surround Sound that emulates a 7.1-channel system with or without earphones, a first for LG
  • Hi-Fi Quad DAC that elevates the listening experience by reproducing sound with exceptional fidelity and the added ability to up-sample most audio files for increased clarity and depth
  • Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) that supports high-quality audio streaming even without an unlimited data plan
  • Boombox Speaker that takes advantage of the internal space of the phone as a resonance chamber to generate amazing bass and more volume

I’m a bit more interested after hearing this bit of news.  Now all I need is improved software UI and a dope camera feature and I’m sold.

How about you?
