Earlier today, Apple made some much-needed updates to the long and forgotten members of the iPad family. Namely, the iPad Mini but they also included the iPad Air as well. They beefed up the internals and equipped them w/ modest specs to catch them up to speed.
In case you forgot about them, the Air offers a 10.5inch Retina display and the Mini offers a 7.9inch Retina display. For the most part, both of the updates are the same. Both offer new A12 CPU + M12 co-processor, stereo speakers, faster Touch ID, f/2.4 8MP rear-facing + f/2.2 7MP FaceTime cameras, Apple Pencil support, 64GB + 256GB storage options, Gold, Silver, & Space Gray color options.
Both iPads come available in Wi-Fi only as well as Wi-Fi + Cellular configurations. Both are available today w/ the Air starting at $499 and the Mini starting at $399.
