The Carnival Corporation, the company behind the cruise lines, is reveling in its most recent accolades.  With that, I mean them winning their 3rd innovation award in 3 months w/ their OceanMedallion technology.   They are the 1st non-tech company to take the prize of 2019 IoT (Internet Of Things) Wearables Innovation Of The Year.

The OceanMedallion is the Disney's MagicBand for your cruise.

So what is OceanMedallion?  It is their wearable unveiled back in 2017 that offers several features to enhance & simplify your cruise experience.  Fun fact: Carnival’s chief experience and innovation officer was responsible for creating the MagicBand for Disney, in case it sounded similar.

With it, you can use it for things like keyless stateroom entry, order food/drinks throughout the ship,  pay for things, gamble real money w/ it, ship navigation, access itinerary, and more.  Currently, it is only available for those sailing on Caribbean Princess or Regal Princess from their Princess Cruise lines.  The service will grow to more cruise lines over the next 2 years.

Definitely sounds like a great addition to have on a cruise.  Hope to experience it one day for myself.  If you want to learn more about it or book your next cruise hit the link below.
