This morning, DJI announced a new competitor for GoPro action cameras w/ the new Osmo Action. Their goal isn’t too go head-to-head w/ GoPro but to surpass them w/ this one.
The new Osmo Action has a rugged look to it w/ a dustproof, shockproof, and waterproof design that can still work in super-cold temps. You got screens on both sides w/ a 1.4inch display on the front and a 2.25inch touchscreen on the rear. It is armed w/ a 1/2.3inch sensor capable of 12MP photos and 4K video @60fps + 100Mbps. It can do HDR video in 4K @30fps, slow-motion in 1080p @240fps and 120fps, and timelapse features. It utilizes DJI’s RockSteady EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) to handle handheld recording and armed w/ dual mic for Voice Control + speaker for playback.
So along w/ these cool features, the Osmo Action offers a slew of accessories to go along w/ it. You got a frame kit, adhesive mounts, waterproof case, 3.5mm adapter, extension rod, floating handle, charging hub, and ND filters. Color me impressed w/ this one. It’s out right now and retails for $349 wherever DJI products are sold.
