Even though Google just announced the new wallet-friendly Pixel 3A, there are still some issues plaguing their current flagships: the Pixel 3 and 3 XL.  Both came out about 6 months ago but some owners are still suffering from a variety of issues in some sort of way.

According to a Reddit user, they may have finally found the culprit behind it all.  Surprisingly enough, its the Digital Wellbeing part of the software.  This is supposed to monitor your usage and help create a better balance between being on your phone and living your life.  Apparently, it is the culprit for the poor memory management issues.  Those w/ issues claimed an greatly improved experience when they turned this feature off.

For those of you who’re suffering from Pixel 3 issues and want to try it, here’s how you turn off Digital Wellbeing.

  • Go to settings on your Pixel phone
  • Choose Digital Wellbeing
  • Tap the three-dot icon at the top right and choose “Turn off usage access”
  • Confirm that decision on the next “Usage access” screen by choosing Digital Wellbeing and toggling the “permit usage access” option to off.

And then, it is off.  Let us know how everything works out and if you’re seeing better overall performance.  I hope this helps.
