So now that we got tvOS and watchOS out of the way, now it’s time for what many of you have been waiting for. The new software update for the iPhone. Say hello to iOS 13: bringing tons of features you’ve been waiting for.
- So to kick things off, we have overall improved performance w/ Face ID getting 30% faster and apps opening 2x faster.
- We have a system-wide Dark Mode present – from keyboards to notifications to Settings.
- And speaking of keyboards, Apple now has their own native swiping keyboard called Quick Path to compete w/ Gboard & SwiftKey.
- To compete w/ Facebook & Google, you can now Sign In w/ Apple. They’re offering a complete single sign in to minimize the data you have to share.
- You got a new voice option for Siri.
- AirPods get even better to use as Siri can read you messages as well as audio sharing that allows you to use the same source (iPad/iPhone) and share the audio w/ someone within a close vicinity.
- Apple Maps now gets its own version of Street View.
- You get more native photo/video editing tools that allow you to do things like rotate recorded video & more.
- A system-wide Voice Control that uses Siri to do almost anything – from dictating messages/emails to opening/closing apps and more.
- You can now have profile pictures in iMessage.
- SD card/USB flash drive support via Files app.
- New Reminders app and updates to Mail, Notes, & Safari.
The new iOS13 will be out later this month for public beta and now for developers. The new update goes back to the iPhone 6S so anyone w/ a iPhone 6 or older, this is where Apple leaves you.
So who’s looking forward to giving this for a spin?
