While everyone is falling in love w/ Canon’s EOS RP shooter, they giving that attention to their portable point-and-shoot cameras as well.  Say hello to the PowerShot G5 X Mark II and the PowerShot G7 X Mark III. 

These have been updated to be more vlogger friendly and to better combat the Sony RX100 camera.  Both shooters offer a 1inch stacked CMOS sensor w/ a 20.1MP lens, powered by Canon’s DIGIC 8 Image Processor, can shoot 4K video @30fps uncropped + 1080p @120fps slow motion, and has a mic jack, HDMI, USB-C, and built-in Bluetooth + Wi-Fi.    

The G7 X Mk III offer a f/1.8-2.8 24-100mm zoom lens w/ 4.2x optical zoom, OIS, & 20fps continuous shooting.  It is also armed w/ a 3inch touchscreen display that flips out 180-degrees for selfies & vlogs.  While the G5 X Mk II offers a f/1.8-2.8 24-120mm lens, OIS, and continuous shooting @20fps but adds RAW burst Mode to boost this up to 30fps.  This sports a pop-up EVF w/ 2.36 million dot resolution that offers Touch & Drag auto-focus through the touchscreen display that also flips up 180-degrees for selfies/vlogs.  

Both cameras are set to arrive sometime next month.  The G5 X Mk II will cost you $900 while the G7 X III will cost you $750.  Which one, if any, will you be picking up?
