We knew it was coming and now we have a name and a little bit more info than we had previously.  Earlier today, Warner Media made their new streaming service official w/ its own name & branding.  Give a warm welcome to HBO Max: their massive content hub to compete w/ the likes of Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and more.

AT&T is pushing HBO Max to offer over 10,000 hours of content at launch.

So what will HBO Max have to offer?  For starters, exclusivity on Friends, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, & Pretty Little Liars.  That don’t do it for you?  They’ll have streaming exclusives for CW Shows like Batwoman, Kay Keene (Riverdale spin-off), 2 romantic comedy films w/ Reese Whiterspoon, and 4 young adult titles by Greg Berlanti (creator of CW’s Arrowverse of shows).  Then there’s new original series like Dune: The Sisterhood, Anna Kendrick’s Love Life, and an animated prequel take on the Gremlins.

And if none of that don’t do it for ya, they’ll be the home for content from Warner Bros., New Line, DC Entertainment, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, The CW, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooser Teeth, Looney Tunes, and much more.  So yeah, AT&T is trying to put Netflix on notice.  Expect the streaming service to launch sometime in the Spring of 2020.

Still no word on the full list of content that will be available or the important thing like pricing.  And no word on if and or when the DC Universe app will get absolved into this either.  But this would probably offer tons of good content for consumers to choose from.  What do you think about it?  Is this something you’ll be putting your $$ behind when it launches or you need more info?
