By now everyone knows all about the small yet powerful Google Home line and what they can do.  From turning lights on/off, casting content to your TV, phone calls, play music, get answers from Google and much, much more.

But today, we’re talking about the Google Home Mini and all that it has done for those w/ disabilities.  Specifically, those w/ physical ones that require a wheelchair to get around.  The Google Nest team have been getting tons of emails about how the Google Home products have helped give people w/ disabilities more independence.

So to help make sure they get their products into as many people as possible.  Google has teamed up w/ the Christoper & Dana Reeve Foundation to give away 100,000 Google Home Minis to those living w/ paralysis and those who help take care of them.

Back the previously mentioned emails, one from Garrison Redd details how it’s been living paralyzed for 20 years.  Dealing w/ light switches & thermostats being too high to reach or trying to reach their phone that fell on the floor to get info from it.  His Home Mini helps him access those things a lot easier via voice as well as help him train as a USA powerlifter for the 2020 Paralympic Games.

If you or someone you know is disabled and could use a Home Mini to make some things a bit easier, you can hit the link below to see if you’re eligible.  If you’d like to help out, you can donate to the Foundation by asking Google Assistant to ‘donate to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation’.
