Earlier today, Sony dropped their 7th-generation RX100 point-and shoot camera. This time around, they made some small yet big changes consumers & creators will appreciate. They added a lot of the A9 features into this little guy to make even more of a beast.
Before we dive into what’s new, let start off w/ what’s the same. You got last year’s f/2.8-4.5 24-200mm zoom lens w/ 8.3x optical zoom, pop-out EVF, and a flip out touchscreen display.
Now let’s dive into the new goodies. You got a new 20MP 1inch stacked sensor to capture even more detail, real-time autofocus & eye-tracking for photos/video from the A9 + a6400, Bionz X image processor from the A9 + A7R III, image stabilization is 4K, capable of 4K HDR HLG/S-Log3 video format, a new Single Burst Shooting Drive Mode that takes 7 pics up to 90fps w/ a single shutter press, and last but not least – microphone jack built in to it.
The latest RX100 VII is due out in a few weeks sometime in August for $1,200 for the camera itself and $1,300 for the Shooting Grip Kit.
Will you be upgrading to the Mk 7 RX100 or keeping what you already have?
