And for the moment the rest of you or most of you have been waiting for. The arrival of the new flagship iPhones from Apple. The iPhone XS & XS Max become the iPhone 11 Pro & 11 Pro Max. Let’s dive into what’s new here.
All about the new iPhone 11
So for starters, you got a new screen w/ their Super Retina XDR display which is an OLED panel pumping out 1,200 nits. It is powered by their new A13 Bionic CPU which is 20x faster than the previous A12 chipset. You got bigger batteries on board as well. The 5.8inch model gets 4 hours more juice while the 6.5inch model gets 5 hours of more juice. Speaking of more juice, Apple is throwing in a faster 18W charger in the box. Reverse wireless charging didn’t make it on the 2019 models. And you got Dolby Atmos audio for the speakers BTW.
R.I.P. 3D Touch
Now all of that is out of the way, lets dive into the new shooters. You got a f/1.8 12MP wide sensor, f/2.0 12MP telephoto sensor, and a f/2.4 12MP ultra-wide sensor w/ 120-degree view. Now Apple is touting these as pro-grade cameras as you got new features like Audio Zoom, Night Mode, 4K video @60fps, slow motion video @120fps, and the ability to shoot (photo/video) w/ all 3 lenses at the same time. They demoed it using the Filmic Pro app to get a multi-cam shot and it looked dope. Creators, create.
Both versions of the iPhone 11 Pro will arrive in Midnight Green, Space Gray, Silver, & Gold colors as well as 64GB/256GB/512GB storage options. Like previously, the 11 Pro starts at $999 and the 11 Pro Max starts at $1099. Pre-orders kick off this Friday at 8AM EST/5AM PST and will hit stores on September 20th.
