If you’re itching to get started in the game streaming wave, the wait will end soon – for some.  Last night, Microsoft announced that they’re opening registrations for the Project xCloud preview for Android.

Microsoft is kicking off their game-streaming service in preview mode here in the US as well as the UK and Korea.  The 1st phase of the preview will include Gears 5, Halo 5: Guardians, Killer Instinct, and Sea of Thieves.  For those of you signing up, you’ll need an Android device running v6.0 of the software or higher, Bluetooth 4.0 support, a Microsoft account, and a Xbox One controller.  The game streaming app will make its way to the Play Store for those part of the beta preview.

Microsoft plans on bringing it to South Korea in 5G via SK Telecom and Vodafone in the UK.  Microsoft will be teaming up w/ T-Mobile here in the US as a technical partner to stream over LTE and not 5G – yet.  Outside of this, Microsoft will be sending invites to a small group in coming weeks aka October.
