Earlier this morning in NYC, Microsoft to the stage to showcase new Surface products. We were expecting the updated Surface Pro and the Surface Laptop but we got a lot more than that. We got a total of 6 new Surface products w/ 4 of them coming out this year and the other 2 next year.

Surface Pro 7
First things 1st, we got the updated take on the Surface Pro. Welcome to the 7th-generation of the 2-in-1 laptop that changed the way people use & make laptops.
The Surface Pro 7 offers a 12.3inch display w/ 2736 x 1824 resolution, up to 10th-gen Core i7 CPU, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB SSD, running Windows 10, a 5MP front-facing + 8MP rear-facing camera capable of 1080p video, dual mics, stereo speakers w/ Dolby Audio, a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-A, and finally a USB-C port. The new Surface Pro 7 is up for pre-order now and starts at $750.
Surface Laptop 3
Next up, we got the update on their Surface Laptop line. We got the new 3rd-gen & more powerful vision of Microsoft’s laptop. The Surface Laptop 3 now comes in 2 models of a 13inch and a 15inch Surface Edition.
The smaller model offers a 13inch display w/ 2256 x 1504 resolution, up to Core i7 CPU, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB SSD. While the bigger model has a 15inch display w/ 2496 x 1664 resolution, up to Ryzen 7 CPU, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 512GB SSD. Both sizes will have 11 and a half hours of battery life, a 720p front-facing camera, omnisonic speakers w/ Dolby Audio, dual stereo mics, a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-A, and finally a USB-C port. The Laptop 3 will start at $1,000 for the 13inch model and $1,200 for the 15inch model.
Surface Pro X
Kicking off on the new things unexpected from Microsoft. We got the new & more powerful vision of the Surface 2-in-1 laptop. Introducing the new Surface Pro X w/ more power & different take on it the now iconic design.
This offers a 13inch display w/ 2880 x 1920 resolution, powered by a custom Snapdragon-based SQ1 CPU, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 512GB SSD, up to 13 hour battery life, a 5MP front-facing camera and a 10MP rear-facing camera up to 4K video, LTE support, USB-C, dual studio mics, and a stereo speakers w/ Dolby Audio. The Signature Keyboard accessory includes a new dock for the new Slim Pen. The Surface Pro X starts at $1,000 w/ pre-orders happening now and going on sale on November 5th.
Surface Earbuds
Another surprise from Microsoft is another addition to the audio side of things. We already got the Surface Headphones and now we got the Surface Earbuds. These are bigger than just about every earbud out on the market.
They each have a 13.6mm driver w/ 2 mics per earbud, it offers touch control to take advantage of the larger size, aptX audio support, an 8-hour battery life that goes up to 24-hours via their charging case, the ability to live transcribe to select apps, they have a IPX4 waterproof body, and voice controls to work w/ Cortana or any digital assistant/Spotify/Outlook calendar, & more apps. The Surface Earbuds are due out later this year and will cost you a whopping $250.
Surface Duo
Now for even more surprises, a new phone from Microsoft. We know Windows Phone is dead but we got a new folding device coming running Android. Say hello to the new Surface Duo smartphone.
The Duo offers 2 5.6inch displays that rotates to become 1 8.3inch tablet running probably Android 10. Rumors have it pegged at a Snapdragon 855 CPU (I hope not as it will be last year’s processor when it launches). Outside of that, we really don’t know too much about the Duo. No word on pricing as this is due out holiday 2020.
Surface Neo
And last but not least, we got another folding device but this is to be more of a computer/tablet than phone. Meet the new Surface Neo: Microsoft’s Courier dreams realized.
The Neo is a dual screen device using a 360-degree hinge that’s comprised of 2 9inch displays to make 1 13inch display. This is made to work w/ a removabel keyboard, Surface Pen/Slim Pen, and a Bluetooth mouse. This will run a lighter take on Microsoft’s OS called Windows 10X. Like the Duo, the Surface Neo is also due out during the holidays of 2020.
So there you have it, Microsoft dropped a lot of things to show you they’ve been working hard. This is easily their most ambitious Surface lineup since the brand launch many years ago now. Any of the new Surface devices caught your eye?
