Soundcore Liberty Pro 2: The Almost Perfect Earbuds

Anker’s Soundcore brought out a ton of new audio products a few weeks back. Out of the 6 products released, their new flagship audio product is the new Liberty 2 Pro earbuds. Adding to the tons of earbuds out on the market, we shine a spotlight on these earbuds to see if it still lives up to the in-ear studio performance Anker says it does as well as its other features. Now that we’ve got most of the iPhone 11 & Pixel 4 content – for now, we’re ready to talk about their new Pro 2s. Our full review lies below.

The Liberty 2 Pros have a bit of a unique design to them not really seen in any or many earbuds out on the market. So you have the larger earbuds look but also offers earwings as well. So you have the ear tips you would have in regular earbuds and smaller earwings like Jaybird does. You got small yet accessible buttons on the top of them instead of a capacitive panel on the sides like other earbuds. These are programmable to skip/replay media, connect, and access your virtual assistants w/ a press or button holds. All of this while offering an IPX4 body to handle sweat + water splashes.

7 different eartips and 3 earwings to choose for the best comfort.

Keep in mind that the 2 Pros are a little on the larger side of earbuds. These guys have a good amount of tech and a massive battery inside that we’ll get to in a bit. Soundcore gives you a lot to ensure comfortability, you got a total of 7 different ear tips to choose from as well as 3 earwings for additional in-ear comfort. The earwings help out in making sure the new 2 Pros fit a lot more comfortable in your ear than your average earbuds.

Now for one of the more important parts of the 2 Pros, the sound quality. These guys are armed w/ custom 11mm drivers w/ Soundcore’s own Astria Coaxial Acoustic Build that gives you good treble inside bass within a wide soundstage. You also have their HearID feature which customizes the sound based on your individual needs as well as 22 preset sound profiles to choose from. All of this to really fine tune the audio experience w/ these guys.

Amazing sound.

I really liked the audio quality the 2 Pros pumped out as well as their adaptable sound. Gives you an impressive all-around sound and if you want more vocals or bass, you can get it by changing the profile to fit what you’re looking for. They give you a good seal in your ears to stay in while running or leaning to the side. We almost forgot to mention their quad-mics w/ noise reduction which is just OK for taking calls. Definitely not one of its strong suits.

Now back to where the size of the earbuds come into play. This is due to the size of the drivers as well as the battery inside. The 2 Pros offer the top echelon of battery life amidst all of the earbuds out there. These live up to their 8-hour battery life that Soundcore suggests which always great as most cap out at around 6ish hours or so. The charging case gives you 3 full charges, can get up to 32 hours in total, a 10-minute charge gives you 2 hours of juice, and has USB-C & supports wireless charging. Keep in mind that the charging case is a little on the larger side as it may not fit in skinny jeans pockets.

Soundcore raised my expectations w/ these Liberty 2 Pros.

The Liberty 2 Pro earbuds are just about the complete package in a pair of earbuds. You got good fit, great audio quality, and battery life to last a full work day within not the best-looking design – all for a reasonably price of $149. So while other buds ranging from $120 and going up to $250, the 2 Pros offer more versatility, audio presets, & battery than most – if not all of the current competition. Taking phone calls on these were the weak spot for me on these. Anker did an amazing job w/ these as these are just about almost perfect earbuds.
