So last night on the west coast, Motorola resurrected their ever-so-popular RAZR brand w/ a new folding phone. Think of the older RAZR but bigger and all display on the inside w/ a larger screen on the outside as well.
Motorola does show off their great engineering prowess w/ the way this folds. It utilizes a groundbreaking hinge mechanism that allows the phone to close with both sides perfectly flush instead of having a gap in the middle like Huawei & Samsung had to do. You got a 6.2inch foldable pOLED display w/ 2142 x 876 resolution on the inside and a 2.7inch gOLED display w/ 600 x 800 resolution on the outside. You can check notifications and do Quick Replies from the outside and watch movies + do everything else you would do on a phone on the inside.
Moto made sure to add a water-repellant coating to the inside + out to make it a bit more durable against getting wet. Outside of that, you got a Snapdragon 710 CPU, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, running Android 9 Pie w/ Moto Actions, a fingerprint reader, a f/1.7 16MP camera w/ EIS on the outside + a f/2.0 5MP camera on the inside, and a 2510 mAh battery that supports their 15W turbo charging.
Like any other folding phone announced, I’m not sure they’re worth what they’re charging for them – and the new RAZR is no different. Especially w/ the $1,900 price point attached to it. But you can get it for $62.49 a month for 24 months on Verizon Device Payment. And the new RAZR is due out on January 9th w/ pre-orders kicking off on December 26th as a Verizon exclusive BTW.
Let us know what you think about it and do you plan on picking one up?
