Amidst all of the rumors of an upcoming Nintendo Switch Pro or another updated model coming this year, it ain’t happening.  At least, not for this year anyways.

The company president, Shuntaro Furukawa, stated within their corporate management policy briefing that they have no plans on launching a new Switch model for 2020.  They don’t really need to as Nintendo is still riding high on the success of the Switch Lite and will continue to push it and its features moving forward.  Nintendo is currently have 52 million Switch units sold, besting the Super NES & doing 4x times the sales of the Wii U.

However, this doesn’t mean that special versions of the Switch, joy cons, & docks are off the table though.  As they just announced a new Animal Crossing: New Horizons variant of the console set to arrive in March.

So Nintendo will be sitting this holiday season out for new consoles while Microsoft & Sony will battle it out w/ their new next-gen consoles dropping.  So you got a year or so to save $$ for when the new Switch or Switch Pro arrives.

You’re welcome.
