We’re about less than a week away from the big show from Samsung and we’re expecting to see one of the 1st flagships of 2020.  Of course, we’re talking about the Galaxy S20 line of smartphones.  Samsung’s Unpacked event is happening on February 11th out in San Fran and we have a good idea on what to expect from Samsung on that day.

Here’s everything that we know thus far:

Galaxy S20 & S20 Plus

Galaxy S20
Galaxy S20 Plus

So instead of getting the Galaxy S11 and S11 Plus, we’re getting the Galaxy S20 and the S20 Plus.  Most things remains the same w/ similar build and specs – save for screen size & battery life.

The S20 has a 6.2inch QHD+ display and a 4000 mAh battery and a S20 Plus has a 6.7inch QHD+ display and a 4500 mAh battery.  Both versions of the S20 will offer a 3200 x 1440 resolution + 120Hz display, Snapdragon 865 CPU, 128GB of storage expandable up ot 1TB via microSD, IP68 dust/water-resistant body, running Android 10 w/ One UI 2, a 10MP centered punch-hole selfie camera, and a quad-camera setup on the rear (12MP main, 64MP telephoto, 12MP ultra-wide, & a ToF sensor) capable of 3x optical zoom, 30x digital zoom, and up to 8K video @30fps.

Of course, the 120Hz display only works on FHD+ resolution.  Outside of that, you’ll only be subject to 60Hz resolution.

Galaxy S20 Ultra

Now for the big and bad version of the newest Galaxy: the S20 Ultra.  This will be the more powerful and the more expensive of the S20 line.  It will be armed w/ a massive 6.9inch QHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 865 CPU, up to 16GB of RAM, a massive 5000 mAh battery, and massive cameras on the rear.

You got a 108MP main sensor, a 48MP telephoto, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a 3D ToF (Time of Flight) sensor.  These shooters are capable of what Samsung calls ‘Space Zoom’ which gives you up to 100x zoom.  Utilizing both optical, digital, and AI working on tandem to pull this off.  All of this w/ a 40MP selfie camera for top-notch front-facing camera quality – hopefully.

This and all versions of the S20 will offer 5G support.  The S20 Ultra is rumored to be around $1,300 price tag to start off with.

We got some more rumors w/ more specific pricing on the S20 lineup.  You can check it out below.

Galaxy Z Flip

Moving onto their new folding device: the Z Flip.  This will be a 2nd folding form factor from Samsung.  This will be the more ‘affordable’ folding device on their roster.

Rumors have it offering a 6.7inch AMOLED display w/ 2636 x 1080 resolution, powered by a Snapdragon 855+ CPU, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of faster UFS storage w/ no microSD card slot, running Android 10 w/ One UI 2, and a 3300 mAh battery.  The cameras on-board will have a 10MP selfie camera and a dual 12MP shooters (1 wide & a 1 ultra-wide).

It is said to be around $1,400 for pricing w/a timed exclusivity to AT&T.  This will be cheaper than the Moto Razr and the current Galaxy Fold.

Galaxy Buds+

Now along w/ the new Galaxy S20, we do know that the Galaxy Buds will get an update as well.  They’re currently dubbed the Galaxy Buds+ and we do know that they will be a pre-order freebie for those who reserve an S20.

We don’t know much about them.  They look identical to the original ones as we can only guess improved range + battery life.  But I wouldn’t anticipate any noise-canceling abilities on-board but stranger things have happened.

This week, we got a leaked spec sheet comparing the original Galaxy Buds to the new Galaxy Buds+.  We’re getting superb battery life, more mics, better audio output, direct Spotify playback button, and more.  You can check it out below:

More Tidbits:

  • Maybe Galaxy Home speaker will arrive or not.
  • Galaxy Home Mini speaker could arrive ahead of the actual Home speaker.

So all will be revealed on February 11th out in San Fran.  We got our invite but unfortunately won’t be making it out there physically.

Which product are you looking forward to?
