It does suck that Samsung’s Galaxy S20 line  of smartphones don’t offer 120Hz refresh rate at full QHD+ resolution.  This might be one of the biggest gripes you and I might have about the S20s.  Thankfully, a fix is coming and sooner than expected.

According to Max Weinbach over at XDA Developers, an update is set to arrive within the next 3 months pending if testing goes well.  This update would grant the entire S20 line access to 120Hz @QHD+ resolution instead of at FHD+ resolution.  At launch using QHD+ resolution will give you the standard 60Hz refresh rate.  Samsung didn’t want to launch w/ this over fears of it possibly draining the battery life on their new flagship smartphones.  Despite the massive batteries they included in the S20s.

Its kind of false advertising a bit but I get it.  In tech, its about who’s 1st not the best.  It would have been nice if Samsung had this ready at launch but I guess better late than never.  Any of you who pre-ordered excited about this?
