Even though Google I/O 2020 is canceled, that doesn’t mean that we won’t get the Pixel 4a still.  Earlier today from 2 different sources, we got more details on it and what to expect as its still expected to arrive very soon.

The folks over at TechDroider is responsible for leaking the retail box/packaging for it that is seen above.  This confirms the previously leaks & renders of the rear design of the mid-range Pixel for 2020.   And the folks over at 9to5Google got their hands on what to expect in regards to the specs & color options as it resembles the Pixel 4 in design language.

So we’re expecting it offer a 5.8inch display w/ 2340 x 1080 resolution, it will run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730 CPU, 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage, a hole punch for the selfie camera on the front, a rear-facing 12MP camera w/ both OIS + EIS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 3080 mAh battery.  Since this will be Google’s budget option, don’t expect Soli sensors for Motion Gestures or their Face Unlock features here.

The 4a will work on all US carriers and will arrive in Just Black & Barely Blue color options.  The most interesting news out of all is that there may not be an XL option which would bring a larger display & battery for $100 more.

Like last year’s model, the Pixel 4a is set to be priced at $399 for more than likely the 64GB option whenever it is released.  With May being right around the corner, that could be very soon.

I’d be crushed if they opt out of an XL model.  What’re your thought on what could be Google’s 2020 budget option?
