Earlier today, OnePlus held their digital event for their new smartphones for 2020: the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro.  This will bring forth a lot 1sts for the company like 5G including Verizon + carrier partnership and both regular + Pro versions available on Amazon.  But let’s dive into what you want to know – all that it can do.  

Looks like all the rumors were true and OnePlus pulled it off.

Both versions offer many of the same internals like Snapdragon 865 CPU, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of internal storage, running Android 10 w/ Oxygen OS, 5G support, a f/2.4 16MP selfie camera, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, stereo speakers, fast in-display fingerprint reader, and their signature Alert slider. 

So starting off w/ the standard 8, it will offer a 6.5inch AMOLED FHD 90Hz display w/ 2400 x 1080 resolution, a 4300 mAh battery, a triple camera setup w/ a f/1.7 48MP main sensor w/ OIS + EIS, a f/2.2 16MP ultra-wide sensor, a f/2.4 2MP Macro sensor, and a dual LED flash.  

Moving onto the 8 Pro, you got a 6.7inch QHD AMOLED 120Hz display, a 4510 mAh battery w/ Warp Charger 30 Wireless + wired, and a quad-camera setup w/ a f/1.7 48MP main sensor w/ OIS + EIS, a f/2.2 48MP ultra-wide sensor, a f/2.4 8MP telephoto w/ OIS + 3x hybrid zoom, a 5MP color filter, and a dual LED flash.  

In regards to 5G, all of models carrier & unlocked will support it on a global scale.  However, the Verizon version of the OnePlus 8 will support both forms of 5G (sub-6 + mmW).  Both T-Mobile & Verizon will carry the OnePlus 8 as the you’ll have to get the 8 Pro from OnePlus directly or Amazon.  

The OnePlus 8 w/ 8GB of RAM + 128GB of storage starts at $699 and goes up to $799 w/ 12GB of RAM + 256GB of storage.  The OnePlus 8 Pro starts at $899 w/ 8GB of RAM + 128GB of storage and goes up to $999 for more RAM + storage.  OnePlus 8 Pro will be available in Onyx Black, Ultramarine Blue, and Glacial Green.  The OnePlus 8’s color line-up includes Onyx Black, Interstellar Glow, and Glacial Green. Verizon will have an exclusive Polar Silver color option.  Both phones are set to drop on April 29th in 2 weeks.
