Google’s Nest division announced that they had to redo their paid service last year and it appears that they have finished.  Yesterday afternoon, they announced their new Nest Aware service starting at $6 per month or $60 yearly.  Let’s dive into what else comes w/ the new price tag.

First and foremost, all of your devices (cameras, speakers, smart displays) will be covered in 1 price.  So adding a new product won’t make you pay more a month.  Along w/ that you get 30-days of event history but if you want 24/7 video history, you’ll have to opt for Nest Aware Plus for $12 per month or $120 yearly.  Nest Aware will give you package notifications, sound detection for smoke alarm, glass breaking, etc.

And last but not least, Nest is lowering their price on the Nest Hub down to $89 and the Nest Cam Indoor down to $129.  For you existing Nest subscribers, you can upgrade to the new version over at the Google Store.  Not bad w/ the pricing and all that comes w/ it. Especially when Amazon’s Ring service is $10 a month or $100 annually and Arlo’s service is $10 a month for up to 5 cameras.
