If haven’t been noticing, Sonos has been releasing new products while updating their older ones over the past year or 2.  It looks like that going to keep going in 2020 as well.  Next up, appears to be an update for their amazing Playbar home theater speaker.

The new & improved Playbar will be take up a lot less space by being a bit skinnier soundbar taking some design cues from their budget Sonos Beam soundbar.  Based on the renders above, not sure if it will retain the accelerometer to be mounted horizontally or vertically.  They also don’t show off any real ports but this could be an incomplete one & not a final render.  Outside of the slightly new look, the new Playbar is said to now add Dolby Atmos & Apple AirPlay 2 support into the mix.

Along w/ that new Playbar, it is said that Sonos will be updating their Play:5 again & their Sub subwoofer as well.  These will all be powered by the new Sonos S2 operating system that will power the next-gen Sonos products + experiences.  The Sonos S2 OS is said to be announced sometime in June but not sure if the Covid-19 situation will push some of that back a bit.

If this turns out to be actual& factual, who’s interested in upgrading or picking up the new Sonos Playbar?
