So after quite the confusion during the launch of HBO Max and its other HBO apps, their parent company of Warner Media is looking to fix a few things.  First by merging some things so there is no longer 3 different HBO apps.

Warner is looking to ditch HBO Go & rename HBO Now to just HBO as it will can be accessed via play.hbo.com.  Although many HBO Now users have already been redirected to HBO Max though.  So by the end of July, HBO Go will be no more as they want to direct you to their flagship app: HBO Max.

So for those of you paying for HBO via your cable provider, you should be able to access HBO Max for free.  For those of you interested in seeing if you’re cable provider supports HBO Max, check out the full list here.

This is cool but I feel like this should have been done ahead of or on the launch day.  But better late than never – I guess.
