After hearing about it for a little bit, we know have some details & images on Google’s forthcoming Android TV dongle.   It is codenamed Sabrina and mirrors a version of the Chromecast or Chromecast Ultra but adds a remote control & more to the mix.

The images above and below are from a pre-release video from October of last year that shows off the setup process, the remote, the device, & the UI.  The device shows off an attached HDMI cable as the device has a more of a rectangular shape w/ rounded corners rather than a circle.

The remote control offers a familiar design from older Android TV setups from years past.  You got a circular d-pad, a dedicated button for Google Assistant, Home, Favorite, Back, Play/Pause, & Mute buttons.  The Android TV UI shows off everything you would see on an Android TV setup.  You got a TV guide, Search, apps, & more.

I’m surprised it took this long for Google to craft their own Android TV solution as this looks good.  The rumored price is around $80 as its expected to drop within the next few months – maybe around the Pixel 5 launch.

Is this something you’d be interested in checking out?
