So to finish a more interesting week in tech off, Google is changing the way they do things for 2020.  Due to the pandemic, we’re still waiting for the Pixel 4a but I think they used that time to change their strategy a bit.

They already teased off their new Nest Home speaker but now we hearing about their upcoming phone releases.  We already heard that we shouldn’t expect an XL version of the 4a but we’re hearing that the might occur w/ the Pixel 5 as well.  This bit of news is courtesy of the folks over at 9to5Google

They looked into the code of the latest beta version of the Google app and found codenames and official names for their upcoming smartphones.  So they found 3 phones to be exact: the Pixel 4a, the Pixel 4a 5G, and the Pixel 5.  This would give 2 out of their 3 devices a Snapdragon 765 5G CPU inside and the 3rd touting a mid-range Snapdragon 730 CPU.

Now this doesn’t necessary mean that we won’t get a Pixel 5 XL or Pixel 5 Ultra later this summer/fall.  Maybe the 4a will be the smaller model and the 5 will be the larger model and you’ll have the 4a 5G as an in-between?  Who knows?  But we’ll see soon won’t we?

Does this bit of info bum you out or do you need to see more on them?
