Yesterday, Kia gave us more details on the previously unveiled K5 sedan.  This is their new vision for their mid-sized sedans as this will replace the award-winning & beloved Optima.  It does retain a lot about it but adds on to the performance side of things.

As far as under the hood, we go from turbocharged 1.6L 4-cylinder w/ 180hp & going up to a 2.5L turbo 4-cylinder w/ 290hp coupled w/ a quick shift 8-speed dual clutch transmission.  You got goodies like Traction Enhancing AWD, Kia’s Drive Wise driver assist technology (from smart cruise control to junction-turning to blind spot & more), either an 8inch or a 10.2inch touchscreen infotainment display, wireless charging pad, remote starter w/ climate control + smart key, voice recognition technology, up to 5 USB ports, 12 Bose speaker setup, Ultralux panoramic sunroof, and 19inch Pirelli P-Zero tires.  Some of these features are standard and some are optional.

The 2021 Kia K5 goes on sale this summer while the faster GT version drops later this year.  Not to be confused w/ the GT-line trim that you can choose form along w/ LX, LXS, & EX.  No official word on pricing but we expecting to be around the $25,000 mark.
