Earlier today, Sony dropped some news in their blog about the PlayStation 5 that will be interesting to say the least. They let us know the current PS4 controllers won’t work w/ PS5 games.
Sony wants gamers to take advantage of their new capabilities & features that comes w/ the new DualSense wireless controller. This goes for 3rd-party PS4 controllers as well but officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks, & flight sticks will work on both the PS4 + PS5 though. The same goes for their PS Move Motion controller + VR Aim controller will work on supported PS VR games on the PS5.
Microsoft claims to support Xbox One controllers for the Xbox Series X so there’s that. Not sure how much of a cash grab this is but Sony did do this before w/ the PS4 as PS3 controllers didn’t work there either. So for those of you looking to pick up a PS5, get ready to grab more controllers.
