Google kicked off their ‘Launch Night In’ event w/ their new-and-improved Chromecast. This time around though, it has evolved and updated to its own streaming device/platform as it is now called Chromecast w/ Google TV.
So Android TV is no more, long live Google TV. This brings forth a better UI/navigation as well as its own controller. The controller offers Google Assistant support, Netlfix + YouTube dedicated buttons, a D-pad, volume controls, mute, pause, & back buttons. It still connect via HDMI as the actual device still resembles the classic Chromecast – albeit a bit more rounder + flatter. You won’t have to worry about buying a separate one for 4K. This one supports 4K HDR up to 60fps, Dolby Vision support as well as HDMI pass-through support for Dolby audio.
You can take full advantage of Google’s service w/ this as it has Nest cam integration, YouTube Music, YouTube TV, and up to 6,500 apps to stream content from w/ apps like Disney+, HBO max, Netflix, Peacock, & more. And last but not least, Stadia gaming support is coming during the 1st half of 2021 as well.
The new Chromecast w/ Google TV launches today for only $50 here in the US and will arrive in Snow, Sky, & sunrise color options. Will you be upgrading to this?
