So now we got the new HomePod Mini and iPhone12 out of the way, its now time for the big boy: the iPhone 12 Pro lineup. We got 2 more devices w/ the iPhone 12 Pro & the iPhone 12 Pro Max that gives us a total of 4 new iPhones for 2020 – all at different price points.
The Pro models of the iPhone 12s offer the stainless steel design +ceramic shield inside for an overall better construction. Both have their Super Retina XDR displays. The 12 Pro has a 6.1inch OLED HDR panel w/ 2532 x 1170 resolution while the 12 Pro Max has a 6.7inch OLED HDR panel w/ 2778 x 1284 resolution. Both have Apple’s newest A14 Bionic processor, IP68 dust/water-resistant bodies, supports both versions of 5G (sub-6GHz + mmWave), and arrives in a larger 128GB/256GB/512GB storage options.
The MagSafe feature from the iPhone 12 is here taking advantage of going back to a more metal build by charging up to 15W. Apple gives the 12 Pro up to 17 hours of juice & the 12 Pro Max up to 20 hours of juice via video playback.You can fast charge up to 50% of juice in 30 minutes but the 20W adapter ain’t coming in the packaging.
As far as their shooters, you got a triple 12MP camera layout consisting of a wide, ultra-wide, & telephoto sensors. The standard wide is a f/1.6 12MP camera, the ultra-wide is a f/2.4 12MP camera, & the telephoto is a f/2.0 on the 12 Pro and a f/2.2 on the 12 Pro Max. You got 2x optical zoom in + out and 4x optical zoom on the 12 Pro while you got 2.5x optical zoom in + 2x optical zoom out and 5x optical zoom on the 12 Pro Max. On the video side, you can shoot HDR video w/ Dolby Vision up to 60fps, 4K + 1080p up to 60fps, OIS, and slow-motion in 1080p up to 240fps. There’s even a LiDAR sensor for fast auto-focus in low-light as well as depth maps +AR features.
Both sizes will arrive in Silver, Graphite, Gold, or Pacific Blue color options starting at $999 for the 12 Pro & $1,099 for the 12 Pro Max. Pre-orders kick off for the iPhone 12 Pro this Friday, October 16th while the iPhone 12 Pro Max pre-orders kick off on November 6th.
