Earlier today, Google announced a new update coming to their Google Assistant-powered smart displays. This will bring over a new UI along w/ some new features to go along w/ it as well. So the new UI will show off new tabs w/ Your Morning, Home Control, Media, Communicate, & Discover tabs.
Your Morning will show you the weather, calendar events, & more as it will turn into Your Afternoon & Your Evening as the day goes on. Home Control is a dedicated page for your smart home products where you can control them. The Media page is for your podcasts/TV shows as well as recommendations from connected services. The Communicate page is dedicated to making calls via Meet/Duo, broadcast to other parts of the house, & Zoom call support coming soon as well. And Discover shows you other things you can do + features to get the most out of your smart display.
You’ll also bring other things like Dark Mode, a shortcut to play relaxing sounds at night, a new sunrise alarm, auto-framing w/ Google Meet on the Nest Hub Max, and access to both your work + personal Google accounts as well. BTW, this update will be arriving to the Google Nest Hub, the Nest Hub Max, Lenovo’s, & more.
Google will begin rolling out the update this week but no telling on exactly when everyone would get it so be on the lookout.
