After rumors of it coming, it has arrived! This is the next-generation Osmo Pocket from DJI which they call the just the Pocket 2. They’ve added more features + abilities as well as upping the video quality to 4K. Let’s break down all that it has to offer.
You got a 20mm f/1.8 lens w/ a 1/1.7inch sensor capable of 16MP or 64MP photos + 4K up to 60fps@100Mbps. You also got a hybrid autofocus 2.0 system, 8x zoom or 4x loseless quality in 1080p, 4 mics, external port for accessories, and a 2-hour + 20-minute battery inside. Thanks to the 4 mics, you’ll get directional audio, audio zoom, & a wind noise reduction.
They added a Pro Mode where you can control ISO/shutter speed/EV/focus, Story Mode to offer preset camera movements/color profiles/music, ActiveTrack 3.0 to track a subject automatically, Slow Motion at 8x @1080p, Timelapse/Hyperlapse/Motionlapse in RAW format + use ActiveTrack 3.0, Livestreaming directly to Facebook YouTube, or RTMP. You will have HDR video support coming at a later date BTW.
On the accessory side of things, you can attach a tripod, a larger handle, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module, a speaker, a 3.5mm audio jack, or a wireless microphone receiver. You’ll even have the joys o f a waterproof housing accessory as well.
The new-and-improved Pocket 2 is due out on November 1st in 2 kit options: the $349 basic + the $499 creator combo that comes w/ all of the aforementioned accessories.
