Samsung does have a lot of phones, some might say too many.  So much to the point that there’s tons of overlap to where they could get rid of a phone or 2 so they won’t shoot themselves in the foot when it comes to sales.

Based on a recent report from Rueters, the Galaxy Note line might be the one to go.  This would be to the drop in sales of their high-end smartphones due to the current pandemic.  The report says Samsung doesn’t have a Note line ready for 2021 but the forthcoming Galaxy S21 & next-gen Z Fold will offer S Pen support.  It will be included for top-tier S21 & will have to be bought separately for the other devices.

If this is truly the end of the Galaxy Note line, it had a hella of a run.  Almost a decade of bigger screen, bigger battery, & of course, the S Pen + all that it has to offer.  However at this point, the S Pen is the only reason to get the Note, everything else you can get from the S-line Plus or Ultra model.  So adding S Pen support other Samsung devices would only make sense.
