Along w/ the hell of run their stocks are doing, Tesla is now taking orders for a more affordable version of the Model Y.  This was spotted by the folks over at Electrek as it is now available on Tesla’s site.

Previously, the Model Y started at $49,990 for the Long Range model but now comes in at $41,990 for the Standard Range RWD.  So along w/ being $8,000 less, you’re gonna miss out on 82 miles per charge going from AWD to RWD as well.  The cheaper Model Y also offers a new 7-seat option for an extra $3,000 that can be folded flat w/ the 2nd row for more storage + 3rd-row USB-C charging.

Previously Elon Musk said that a Standard version of the Model Y was shelved due to the lower range but apparently things changed.  But for those of you interested, you can put your order in now as it will be a 2-5-week wait for delivery though.
