Rode is known for the amazing audio products for content + videomakers.  Today, they stepped things up a bit w/ their newest take on wireless audio w/ the 2nd-gen Wireless Go or the Wireless Go II.  Like any other update, they took everything that was great about the original and improved on it.

The Wireless Go II offers dual channel recording from not one but 2 mics, while extending the wireless range up to over 650 ft via line of sight.  The OG Wireless Gos capped out at 230 ft so you now have more than double the range.  All while utilizing their new series IV 2.4GHz digital transmission w/ 128-bit encryption.  They even added on-board recording abilities as a failsafe which was a much-needed addition.

Now that you have 2 mics that come w/ the system, you can opt for stereo or mono audio recording on a single receiver.  This makes it easy to use on a camera as well as a smartphone, a computer, or to a separate recorder via 3.5mm analog as well for capturing better audio.  And like the previous models, you don’t have a lavalier included but you can buy Rode’s Lavalier Go if you prefer the more professional look.

And last but not least, you still retain the 7-hour battery life on each of the mics + receiver.  The big difference here is that Rode’s on-board recording system can save up to 24 hours of audio internally.  This is to makeup for not including an SD card slot.

IF these are anything like the original Wireless Gos, these should be amazing as I’ve been using them for every video we’ve put together ever since buying them.
