Anker Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Pro: Brilliantly Budget ANC Earbuds

The new Liberty Air 2 Pros offer a familiar design, look, & feel to them. You got the atypical stem form factor w/ a more streamlined design from the Liberty Air 2s and a smaller charging case as well. I got the Sapphire Blue color option while retaining the plastic build overall. All while weighing in at 2.4 ounces over the slightly lighter 2.08 ounces from the Liberty Air 2s while still being lightweight.

They have an IPX4 rating on them to give you protection against water/liquid splashes. Making these ideal to workout with but not to shower or be out in a monsoon with. You got touch controls on the side of each to do things like adjust volume, play/pause, activate voice assistant & ambient sound. These actions can be customized within their HearID app which we’ll talk about in a bit.

Touting the stem design so you have the atypical insert, twist, & lock for a good seal/fit. These Soundcore buds fit pretty good to wear for Clubhouse rooms as well as rocking out until the battery dies on them. If the default tips don’t work for your ears, you got a total of 9 different ear tips for you to choose from for comfort.

Soundcore equipped these buds w/ their latest 11mm Pure Note drivers coated w/ 10 hardened nano-layers for better produce clear + accurate output. And I can attest that they really do. These new Pure Note drivers might be their best ones yet as everything is super clear, full + wide soundstage, & a great amount of bass. Great job Soundcore.

The right sound w/ ANC, for the right price.

You also have their powerful & useful Hear ID app which is necessary to get the full use out of these buds. From here you can do things like customizing your hearing profile via a hearing test that gives you customized EQ options as well as choose from the 22 EQ presets, the touch controls to your liking by adding volume control, turning ambient sound on/off, and adjust through the 4 levels of ANC.

And speaking of ANC, the Active Noise-Cancelling onboard works surprisingly well. You can choose from Indoor, Outdoor, Transport, or craft your own custom level as well as an Ambient Mode. All works really well for its $130 price tag. And the 6 on-board mics also works really well for phone calls too. The phone calls sound just as clear as on the AirPods Pro which hasn’t been an easy feat.

Now for being smaller ANC earbuds, Soundcore armed these w/ some amazing battery life that lives up to the suggested 7 hours of juice. You got a small charging case that can fit just about any pocket & shows you the battery levels via 3 LEDs on the outside. They can recharge the Air 2 Pros 3 times as well as charge wirelessly via Qi charging. You got fast charging via USB-C that can give you 3 hours of juice in a 15-minute charge. Keep in mind, that it does take 2 hours to charge the case completely.

The Liberty Air 2 Pros are my new go-to budget earbuds to recommend for anyone.

Soundcore nailed about every aspect on these buds this time around. The Liberty Air 2 Pros are a great example of when you combine good, versatile audio, good ANC, and a superb battery life – all within an affordable package.  Of course, w/ the plastic build is appreciated to help save on costs. And these pandemic days, that will be greatly appreciated. They give you everything you need to get started including 9 different sized tips to find the right fit instead of the usual 3. And if you’re not a fan of the sound and touch controls out of the box, just change everything to your liking within the Hear ID and you should be good. I tip my hat off to Soundcore for these buds by giving people the right sound for the right price.
