ICYMI, Sony is bringing their absolute best w/ the Xperia 1 III. This is their premium build w/ glass on top of metal frames. The pricing & availability for it was just announced as it’s set to arrive on August 19th for $1,299. To give you a recap of all that it has to offer, we got it all laid out below.
As far as the specs, you got a 6.5inch 21:9 CinemaWide 4K HDR OLED display w/ 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 888 CPU, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage expandable via microSD, IP68 dust/water-resistance, 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers w/ Dolby Atmos + 250 Reality Audio support, running Android 11, 5G support, and a 4500 mAh battery w/ wireless + reverse wireless charging.
Now in regards to the rear cameras, you got a total of three 12MP cameras ranging from f/1.7, f/2.2, & f/2.3 + focal lengths ranging from 16mm to 105mm w/ dual phase-detection auto-focus & OIS on 2 of the lenses. You can capture up to 4K @120fps in video along w/ eye/object-tracking. And last but not least, you got a 3D iTime of Flight sensor for depth sensing. And then there’s also an 8MP selfie camera present as well.
The Xperia 1 III will arrive in Frosted Black and Frosted Purple color options as well. Those of you who pre-order before September 26th, will get the phone plus a pair of WF-1000XM3 earbuds & 43,200 Call Of Duty: Mobile CP points. We covered the Xperia 5 II and were seriously impressed w/ what Sony has been doing lately. So I am definitely interested to see if they can offer enough to live up to that $1,299 price point.
