Now for the star(s) of the show: the iPhone 13. More specifically, the 6.1inch 13 & the 5.4inch 13 Mini. Apple is mirroring that of last year’s iPhone release strategy of a 4-phone launch w/ a mini, regular, Pro, & Pro Max.
The iPhone 13 brings forth a 20% slimmer Face ID notch, a faster + more powerful A15 Bionic CPU, faster 5G speeds, better battery life w/ the 13 mini getting 1.5 hours more juice & the regular 13 getting 2.5 hours of more juice, and a slightly different rear camera setup w/ more abilities to go along w/ it.
Apple brings a new f/1.6 12MP wide sensor and a f/2.4 12MP ultrawide sensor + 120-degree field of view. They’re also bringing forth a new sensor-shift stabilization technology to have the sensor move to reduce vibrations. This appeared on the 12 Pro Max & is coming to all 2021 iPhone models.
You’ll be able to customize the look of your photos via a new feature called photographic profiles. Also new is their cinematic mode for video that allows you to change focus during a video in real time. You’ll also be able to manually change focus or lock focus on an object for more control.
The iPhone 13 Mini will cost you $699 while the 13 will cost you $799. BTW, gone is the 64GB base storage size as you now have 128GB, 256GB, & 512GB storage options to choose from. Pre-order start this Friday, September 17th and will become available next week on the 24th.
