Now we knew that a new chip was coming but Apple dropped 2 new M1 processors to truly flex on Intel. So we now got the M1 Pro & the M1 Max Apple Silicon CPUs. These will be powering the new MacBook Pros which we’ll get to later.
They’re similar to the M1 w/ the same 5nm process but w/ massive upgrades. You got a 10-core CPU + 16-core GPU to support up to 32GB of RAM on the M1 Pro. You’ll get 70% faster performance than the M1 and 2x faster GPU on the M1. While the M1 Max goes up to 64GB of RAM + 32-core GPU & bringing 4x faster than the GPU. This will make for 2x faster encoding for 4K + 8K ProRes and 10x faster ProRes in Compressor over the 16inch Intel MacBook Pro.
This will be good news for video editors, animators, graphics designers, audio engineers, music producers, & more creatives. Now all you gotta do is pick up the newest 14inch or 16inch MacBook Pros to take full advantage of them.
