Yesterday, Kia revealed the pricing for their 1st flagship electric vehicle: the EV6 lineup. It will be available in all 50 US states and coming in other regions. Since this is a new EV, you can take advantage of the $7,500 federal vehicle tax credit to shave some of the MSRP costs.
Kia’s EV6 will offer 3 trim levels in the US w/ Light, Wind, & the GT-Line. The Light trim (RWD) starts at $40,900, the Wind trim (RWD) starts at $47,000, the dual-motor Wind (e-AWD) starts at $50,900, the GT-Line (RWD) starts at $51,200, and lastly the dual-motor GT-Line (e-AWD) starts at $55,900. Of course, these pricing doesn’t include the $1,215 destination cost BTW.
Now in case you forgot, the EV6 will offer 2 battery options of 58.0 kWh & 77.4 kWh to push either the RWD or dual-motor e-AWD electric motors. You can get up to 576hp and a range of up to 339 miles per charge. Kia armed it w/ a multi-charging system that supports 400v & 800v DC charging which will give you up to 217 miles in under 18 minutes. As well as their innovative vehicle-to-load that will allow you to use the EV6 to charge everything from computers, camping, tailgating, & home improvement products via 1900 watts of power.
I was fortunate enough to attend the official unveiling in Times Square in NYC. I sat inside and checked it out and it looks as good if not better than in the pics/videos. So if you missed the opportunity to pre-order one last year, the EV6s will begin arriving at US dealerships within the next few weeks.
