Earlier this week, Sony unveiled the final piece of their next-gen VR gaming headset: the VR2.  They previously announced it last month at CES and also showed off only the controllers last year and now we see what the actual headset looks like alongside the controllers.

The design is similar to the original PS VR w/ a new vent design, a new lens adjustment dial, and weighs less while maintaining the same black & white color layout – for the most part.  It also has small PS icons hidden within the front + back bands of the headset like on the PS5 + its controller.

It will offer haptic feedback, eye-tracking, 4K HDR, 90-120Hz frame rates, and a 110-degree field-of-view. While rumors have it being equipped w/ OLED panels w/ 2000 x 2040 resolution per eye, 4 cameras on board for headset + controller-tracking w/ IR for eye-tracking per eye, a 6-axis motion sensing system comprised of a 3-axis gyroscope + 3-axis accelerometer, vibration on the headset, built-in mics + output for stereo headphone.  All while being able to connect to your PS5 w/ a single USB-C cable.

Good news is that even if you have the OG PS VR w/your PS5 w/ the addition of a special adapter and you’re good to go.  Now the only thing we need to know about is the pricing.  The original one retailed for around $500 so not sure if the new one will be the same or more.
