Earlier today, OnePlus revealed when to expect their latest flagship here in the US.  Spoiler alert: its really soon.  The OnePlus 10 Pro is coming sometime in March but they had more to say about it and the future as well.

To recap, the OnePlus 10 Pro will offer a 6.7inch OLED display, powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, up to 12GB of RAM, 256GB of fast UFS storage, a triple rear camera setup powered by Hasselblad, and a 5000 mAh battery w/ fast wired + wireless charging.

Some good news behind the launch is that they’ve heard your cries and decided to delete the idea of merging their Oxygen OS w/ Oppo’s ColorOS for one unified OS.  So Oxygen OS lives as ColorOS will remain on Oppo devices only.  I saw plenty of complains on Twitter on the matter and apparently so did OnePlus.  so crisis averted.

And last but not least, they announced that they are capable of safe 150W wired charging.  This is thanks to the folks over at the Oppo Research Institute.  They were able to do it via a customized twin battery setup w/ protection board + microcontroller to push speeds w/o getting dangerous for you, your home, or where you charge your smartphone.

You’ll be able to charge a 4,500 mAh battery from 1-50% in just 5 minutes.  That’s nuts!  And the good thing is that you won’t have to wait for it as it is expected to arrive on a OnePlus phone dropping in the 2nd quarter of this year.

So w/ all of this good news, did OnePlus win you back or do you need to see more from them?
