And last but not least, we got the Mac Studio & the Studio Display from Apple. The Mac Studio is exactly what you see: a Mac Mini or steroids. While the Studio Display is an upgrade from the ProDisplay XDR.
The Mac Studio is powerful desktop that still takes up very little space. It stands at 3.7inches tall, has an aluminum chassis, and will remain quiet under heavy performance. You got 2 USB-C ports + SD card slot on the front and 4 Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 10Gb Ethernet port, 2 USB-A ports, an HDMI, and an audio jack. This can even support up to 4 Pro Display XDRs and a 4K TV at the same time. All powered w/ an M1 chip: either M1 Max or their new M1 Ultra.
Speaking of the new M1 Ultra chip, it is quite the new monster from Apple. It has a 20-core CPU, 64-core GPU, & 32-core neural engine that can support up to 128GB of RAM. Apple claims this is 8x faster than their own M1 chipset on the Mac Mini. This thing will outperform their top-of-the line Mac Pro.
And then we have the Apple Studio Display. This is their latest high-end external monitor that has a 5K 27inch display w/P3 colors, 600 nits of brightness,a 6 speaker system (4 woofers + 2 tweeters), studio grade internal 3mic system,3 USB-C ports + a Thunderbolt 4 port capable of up to 96W passthrough charging, and a 12MP ultrawide camera.
It can even power up & display from all of Apple’s laptop – even the more recent 14inch + 16inch MacBook Pros. There’s even an A13 CPU inside for better performance w/ macOS features like spatial audio, Center Stage, & ‘Hey Siri’ support.
The new Mac Studio starts at $2,000 w/ the M1 Max, $4,000 w/ the M1 Ultra, and $1,600 for the new Studio Display. Like everything else, pre-orders kick off this Friday and goes on sale on the 18th.
So which one are you picking up or are you ordering all of them?
