Yesterday, we got word that Apple might be joining the hardware subscription game in the very near future.  According to Mark Gurman over at Bloomberg, said that Apple will be selling iPhones & iPads as a subscription plan model.

Now this isn’t something entirely new.  They have the iPhone Upgrade Program that give you AppleCare & a new iPhone by paying for it over the course of 12 months.  As well as their Apple One software bundles for their in-house software like Apple Music, Apple TV Plus, Apple News Plus, Apple Fitness Plus, & Apple Arcade.

Now for this upcoming iteration, the monthly charge wouldn’t by the price divided by 12 or 24 months but a cost that is still being determined.  It would be tied to you existing Apple ID as well.  This could & should include AppleCare and select or all of the Apple One bundle.  Apple would make this a more dedicated subscription service as they would start w/ the iPhone & move to iPads potentially.

Apple could roll out this new service sometime either later this year or sometime early next year.  This could be another turn into another steady revenue stream for the house that Steve Jobs built.  Would you be interested or take advantage of this service when it comes?
