While we’re still awaiting for the finalization of Discovery’s purchase of WarnerMedia, they announced some news yesterday to move things closer to the finish line.  Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels  at the Deutsche Bank 30th Annual Media, Internet, & Telecom Conference as reported by Variety.

They will be combining their apps of Discovery Plus & HBO Max into one app.  However, this is an ideal endgame as for their streaming properties.  Before we get there, anticipate some bundling options similar to how Disney does w/ their streaming services of Disney Plus, Hulu, & ESPN.

At the time of writing this, both apps offer ad-supported + ad-free tiers w/ Discovery Plus  w/ ads is $5 monthly + ad-free is $7 monthly.  While HBO Max w/ ads is $10 monthly + ad-free is $15 monthly.  But when the 2 apps merge I doubt it will stay the same price as you can expect an increase on all sides.  Many would speculate it would go up to $20 monthly for access for both services.

So would you pay more for DC/HBO content w/ Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives in a one-stop shop for content?
