As inflation kicks in, prices for just about everything is slowly rising. Apparently, the tech sector isn’t excluded from this. Another day, another price hike for Tesla vehicles.
But not just one model but all of the available models. This is a 5% to 10% price increase across the board BTW. So remember when the Model 3 started around $30K? Those days are over. As the cheapest Tesla vehicle will now start at around $47K.
The Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive goes from $44,990 to $46,990, the Model 3 Long Range goes from $51,990 to $54,990, the Model 3 Performance goes from $58,990 to $61,990, the Model Y Long Range goes from $59,990 to $62,990, the Model Y Performance goes from $64,990 to $67,990, the Model S Dual Motor goes from $94,990 to $99,990, the Model S Tri-Motor goes from $129,990 to $135,990, The Model X Dual Motor goes from $104,990 to $114,990, and finally the Model X Tri-Motor goes from $126,490 to $138,990. Yikes!
The actual reason or reasons for the price increase is inflation in raw materials & logistics used to build their EVs due to Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine. But the crazy thing about this is that Tesla has been slowly increasing their prices over time – even as recently as last week w/ select Long-Range models.
So if you didn’t get a Tesla by now, not sure if you want to pay this much more than everyone else. Or look into the EV competition for a more affordable alternative?
