Ending off the week w/ news is Qualcomm revealing their new chipset to be armed inside of the mid-to-late year Android devices.  Meet the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 CPUs.  

Kicking things off w/ the 8 Plus Gen 1, it will be a slightly more powerful 8 Gen 1.  Armed w/ 10% more GPU speeds, 30% GPU power reduction, 10% faster CPU performance, 30% in CPU power efficiency, and 15% SoC (System of Chip) power savings.  All while getting peak speeds of 3.2GHz CPU speeds.  This will bring forth features like video capture up to 8K HDR video + HDR10+, Wi-Fi 6E, Snapdragon Sound w/ lossless support, Bluetooth LE audio, and faster 5G support.  We can expect to see this chip within devices like the ASUS ROG, Black Shark, Honor, Lenovo, Motorola, Oneplus, Oppo, realme, RedMagic, Redmi, Vivo, Xiaomi, & ZTE.  Due out sometime in Q3 of this year.  

And on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is made to be your complete gaming package.  This is a 4nm chip giving you speeds up to 2.4GHz, Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3 LE Audio, faster 20% faster graphics rendering, 30% improved AI performance,  capture 4K HDR video, next-gen QHD+ display, HDR gaming support, digital keys + wallets, and up to 16GB RAM.  

You can expect to see them within smartphones from Honor, Oppo, & Xiaomi set to arrive on Q2 of this year.  Also due out later this year is the announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the Android-powered flagships due out this fall.
