This morning brought forth a leaked image of what is more than likely the actual date for Samsung‘s next Unpacked event.  This would be focused on their foldables and accessories for 2022.

The image is courtesy of Evan Blass aka @evleaks which gives us the August 10th date of when the announcement will happen.  This date has been floating around for a bit which corroborates w/ other leaks as well as an August 26th date for all devices revealed to go on sale.  As far as what we can expect to see on the 10th?  The Z Fold 4, Z Flip 3, Galaxy Watch 5 series, & Galaxy Buds Pro 2.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is expected to have a new aspect ratio due to the hardware/display being slightly wider and not as tall.  It will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 CPU, 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, retain its IPX8 rating, and offer a new hinge mechanism that will offer a less noticeable crease in the middle.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is said to offer more or less the same as last year’s model w/ Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 CPU, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, retain its IPX8 rating, and bring over the new hinge from the Z Fold for to offer a less noticeable crease.  The Z Flip 4 could actually be a little cheaper than last year’s model as well but we’ll file that in the wait and see category.

Then we got the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro coming which might be a bit more pricier than the current model.  The Watch 5 will come in 40mm + 44mm sizes while the Watch 5 Pro will only arrive in a 45mm size.  Gone is the beloved rotating bezel but they’ve got an improved 3-in-1 BioActive sensor for track body metrics.

And last but not least, we got the Galaxy Buds Pro 2.  Other than being identical in design from the current model, we can only expect better audio, a bigger battery, and a new color option to match the Z Flip 4.

The 2nd big Unpacked events are usually closer towards the end of August as this year, they opted to go a bit earlier.  Maybe its to enjoy more time on sale before Apple & Google come through.  Anyways, who’s excited for new Samsung hardware as a part of their summer launch?
