Yesterday, Sony unveiled their sequel to their popular ZV-1 vlogging/content creator camera w/ the ZV-1 II.  It retains the core design, concept, and 20MP sensor as Sony made sure to improve on some of its short-coming for the 2nd-generation model.  Now being $100 more than the original model at $900, here’s everything that it is armed with.

The ZV-1 II has a 20MP Exmor RS sensor w/ a wider f/1.8-f/4 18-50mm Zeiss lens, a built-in ND filter, capable of shooting 4K video @30fps, new S&Q (Slow & Quick) shoot modes for 5x slow motion + 60x quick motion ideal for speed ramping, up to 315 phase-detection auto-focus points as a part of Sony’s AF system, an improved 3-capsule mic setup for audio, ISO from 125 -12,800, and a 3inch LCD touchscreen.  Sony still retains the Product Showcase, Active Mode electronic image stabilization, a 3.5mm audio jack, HDMI micro, and USB-C ports.

We reviewed the original ZV-1 back in 2020 and it was a great 1st-gen shooter geared towards creators.  I am curious to see if the new updates help make it a better shooter.  The ZV-1 II goes on sale next month for $900 and pairs well w/ Sony’s $138 Bluetooth grip too.  Is this something you will pick up?
