Yesterday, Sony brought their rumored A7C sequel to light w/ the two new shooters. Meet the $2,200 A7C II and the $3,000 A7C R full-frame mirrorless cameras. Which updates the power of the A7 line inside of an a6000-size body. While the two shooters resemble each other there are some notable differences to justify the price difference – kind of. Both offer a Slow-and-Quick dial and the Z batteries.
The Sony A7C II is armed w/ a 33MP full-frame Exmor R sensor, powered by a Bionz XR image processor, can shoot up to 10fps and record 4K up to 60fps w/ a crop, supports S-Log3, S-Gamut3, S-Cinetone, and custom LUT, 7 stops of in-body image stabilization, ISO 50-204,800, 759-points of phase detection autofocus, 3inch touchscreen LCD display, 1 SD card, 1 mini HDMI port, and a mic jack. So there are AI improvements and better video quality but outside of that, the A7C II is pretty close to the original A7C.
Now the A7C R is a bit of a step up from the A7C II. The A7C R is armed w/ a 61MP full-frame Exmor R sensor, also armed w/ the Bionz XR image processor, can shoot up to 8fps and record up to 4K @60fps in 10-bit w/o a crop, supports S-Log3, S-Gamut3, S-Cinetone, custom LUTs, faster Real-time Eye AF and support for video, 7 stops of in-body image stabilization, ISO 50-102,400, 693-points of phase detection autofocus, a 3inch touchscreen LCD display, 1 SD card slot, 1 mini HDMI port, USB-C, and a mic jack.
